The Dubs Agency has strategically transformed investor communications for abrdn through a digital-first approach. Going beyond traditional investor relations, the always-on investor content program allows abrdn to own its brand narrative across multiple digital channels.
Our strategy started by acknowledging that abrdn’s shareholders and investors primarily access share prices and company news through aggregators like Google Search, Apple iStocks, Google Finance, and Yahoo Finance. To gain access to these channels, we focused on establishing an editorially-led content strategy that would earn abrdn a place on these channels.
SEO-rich content is central to the strategy, allowing ownership of strategic keywords as well as providing brand protection during negative media coverage.
IFM Investors: Naturgy and Vienna Airport share offer
1. Naturgy takeover in Spain
IFM Investors wanted to purchase more shares in Spanish Energy provider Naturgy to increase its presence on the border. The campaign was aimed at Spanish retail shareholders of Naturgy to convince them to take up IFM Investors’ share price offer to sell their shares. A fast turnaround, the timeline from commencement to launch was one month including the build of a dual-language share-offer website and advertising campaign planning, production and execution across multiple digital channels.
The digital-first approach employed by The Dubs Agency achieved deep penetration with Naturgy shareholders, with 80,000+ likely Naturgy shareholders visiting the deal site during the campaign – a large majority of the total Naturgy shareholders. Digital channels were cost-effective at reaching a highly engaged audience, with 21% of all traffic to the deal website driven by digital channels at a significantly cheaper cost than other channels.
2. Vienna Airport share offer
The Dubs Agency again supported IFM Investors in engaging retail shareholders of Vienna Airport to convince them to take up IFM Investors’ share price offer. Led by The Dubs Agency, the digital activity achieved more than 3,000,000 ad impressions in 3 months and over 32,000 link clicks. Digital channels outperformed traditional print display packages, helping IFM Investors achieve a 3.37% increase in the share capital of Vienna Airport. On completion of the offer, IFM Investors held 43.37% of the entire share capital of Vienna Airport.
